Established in 1997 to meet local need for an adult community orchestra, the Saskatoon Philharmonic Orchestra performs two concerts a year. Traditionally performing in various high school theatres, the orchestra has also performed at Persephone Theatre in January 2009, and is currently performing at the Third Avenue United Church in beautiful downtown Saskatoon.
The orchestra performs a variety of classical pieces, both by well-known composers and local talent. Show tunes provide a light-hearted diversion from more serious fare.
The orchestra is composed of both amateur and professional muscians.
